Academics

DeMiguel Elementary aligns its curriculum with Arizona’s K‑12 Academic Standards, ensuring students receive instruction in core areas such as English Language Arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, and health—all guided by frameworks developed and maintained by the Arizona Department of Education. This means every lesson is designed to help students meet or exceed state benchmarks, preparing them for success in school, college, and beyond.

DeMiguel Elementary hosts the Flagstaff Unified School District’s Elementary Preparatory Academy—a "school within a school" that enriches gifted and high-achieving students with advanced academic experiences while still engaging in all campus-wide programs. Through this program, students access specialized learning opportunities and resources alongside their peers, fostering both academic growth and a sense of community.
